How did we come to be where we are now?

The Bible says this.....

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. God created humans to be like himself; he made men and women. God gave them his blessing and said: Have a lot of children! Fill the earth with people and bring it under your control. Rule over the fish in the ocean, the birds in the sky, and every animal on the earth. I have provided all kinds of fruit and grain for you to eat. And I have given the green plants as food for everything else that breathes. These will be food for animals, both wild and tame, and for birds. The Lord God put the man in the Garden of Eden to take care of it and to look after it. But the Lord told him, “You may eat fruit from any tree in the garden, except the one that has the power to let you know the difference between right and wrong. If you eat any fruit from that tree, you will die before the day is over!” one day The woman stared at the fruit. It looked beautiful and tasty. She wanted the wisdom that it would give her, and she ate some of the fruit. Her husband was there with her, so she gave some to him, and he ate it too. Right away they saw what they had done, and they realized they were naked. Then they sewed fig leaves together to make something to cover themselves. The Lord called out to the man and asked, “Where are you?” The man answered, “I was naked, and when I heard you walking through the garden, I was frightened and hid!” “How did you know you were naked?” God asked. “Did you eat any fruit from that tree in the middle of the garden?” Then the Lord said to the woman,“You will suffer terribly when you give birth. But you will still desire your husband, and he will rule over you.” The Lord said to the man, “You listened to your wife and ate fruit from that tree. And so, the ground will be under a curse because of what you did. As long as you live you will have to struggle to grow enough food. Your food will be plants, but the ground will produce thorns and thistles. You will have to sweat to earn a living; you were made out of soil, and you will once again turn into soil.”

The Lord said, “These people now know the difference between right and wrong, just as we do. But they must not be allowed to eat fruit from the tree that lets them live forever.” So the Lord God sent them out of the Garden of Eden, where they would have to work the ground from which the man had been made. Then God put winged creatures at the entrance to the garden and a flaming, flashing sword to guard the way to the life-giving tree.

Adam and Eve chose to please their own desires in stead of remaining in harmony with God's Plan and this resulted in them being separated from God's presence, Breaking their close relationship.

Immediately God started to put into action an amazing plan to restore the broken relationship that had been caused by the man and the women disobeying His warning not to eat of the forbidden fruit. This plan would cost God a very high price, but because he loves his creation so much he was prepared to invest all in bringing a solution to man's dilemma.

The Way to LIFE

I want you to know all about Christ's love, although it is too wonderful to be measured.

"God blesses those people who refuse evil advice and won’t follow sinners or join in sneering at God. Instead, the Law of the Lord makes them happy, and they think about it day and night. They are like trees growing beside a stream, trees that produce fruit in season and always have leaves. Those people succeed in everything they do. That isn't true of those who are evil, because they are like straw blown by the wind. Sinners won’t have an excuse on the day of judgment, and they won’t have a place with the people of God. The Lord protects everyone who follows him, but the wicked follow a road that leads to ruin."

"But when good people start sinning and doing disgusting things, will they live? No! All their good deeds will be forgotten, and they will be put to death because of their sins. And if wicked people start doing right, they will save themselves from punishment."

The fact is that "We have only one Lord, one faith, and one baptism. There is one God who is the Father of all people." and "All of us have sinned and fallen short of God's perfect glory."

Now "If any law could give life to us, we could become acceptable to God by obeying that law. But the Scriptures say that sin controls everyone, so that God’s promises will be for anyone who has faith in Jesus Christ.

The problem is that "The payment for sin is death, but the solution to the problem is that the gift that God freely gives is everlasting life found in Christ Jesus our Lord."

This Good News "is about God's Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. In His human nature He was a descendant of King David. In His spiritual, holy nature he was declared the Son of God. This was shown in a powerful way when he came back to life."

In order to get back to the relationship that Adam and Eve had in the garden before they were expelled from the garden of Eden we need to “Turn back to God! Be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, so that your sins will be forgiven. Then you will be given the Holy Spirit. This promise is for you and your children. It is for everyone our Lord God will choose, no matter where they live.”

The way back to the life-giving tree.

Then everyone who believes in Jesus Christ Son of God, will have eternal life. God loved the world this way: He gave His only Son Jesus so that everyone who believes in Him will not die but will have eternal life. God sent His Son into the world, not to condemn the world, but to save the world. Those who believe in Him won't be condemned. But those who don't believe are already condemned because they don't believe in God's only Son.

God has shown us his love by sending his only Son into the world so that we could have life through Him. This is love: not that we have loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the payment for our sins. ( by dying on the cross ) Christ sacrificed his life’s blood to set us free, which means that our sins are now forgiven.

People who turn away from their ( Separated from God ) selfish self centred self reliant lifestyle and turn to Christ God's Son to save them and give them real LIFE and put their faith in him ( and become reconnected to Him ) can then say ....

"We know that we live in Him and He lives in us because He has given us His Spirit. We have seen and testify to the fact that the Father sent His Son as the Saviour of the world. God lives in those who declare that Jesus is the Son of God, and they live in God.

Praise the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ for the spiritual blessings that Christ has brought us from heaven! Before the world was created, God had Christ choose us to live with Him and to be His holy and innocent and loving people. God was kind and decided that Christ would choose us to be God’s own adopted children. God was very kind to us because of the Son he dearly loves, and so we should praise God.

If you would like to be saved from your sins and the penalty for sin, and receive eternal life and be able to say "I know that He lives in me and I live in Him" then say this prayer out loud to God your heavenly Father who will hear your prayer.

"Dear Jesus, I accept that I have fallen short of your perfect standard and have done things wrong in my life.

I believe that You have paid the price for me by dying on the cross.

I ask you now to forgive me for all the things that I have done that have hurt you. I now turn away from my own ways and to to your ways.

I ask you now to come into my life and be my Lord and Saviour and fill me with your abundant LIFE. I put my faith and trust in you the living God. Amen.

If you have said this prayer and meant it, then you are now a new disciple of Jesus Christ and have received eternal life.

You will find that your old nature will argue with your new God given nature, but you now have the authority in Christ to resist it.

I recommend that you do three important things that will set you on your way to being a growing and effective disciple of Jesus Christ.

1. Tell someone you know that you are now a Christian.

2. Find a Christian who can help and encourage you.

3. Read the bible and pray ( just talk ) to Jesus every day. ( a relationship takes a continual and regular act of relating for it to grow) Its about listening as much as talking, so Give God a chance to speak to you. Take time to listen.
