who do you say that I am?

Jesus asked his friends this question.

He is asking you this question now.

How you answer this fundamental question "Who do you think that Jesus is" will determine what questions you ask him and what you expect the answers to be, but it does not alter who He is.

One of his friends answered this question like this:

"You're the Christ, the Messiah, the Son of the living God." ( Messiah is described as The promised deliverer of the Jewish nation .)

Jesus said this about himself:

"I am the bread that gives life! No one who comes to me will ever be hungry. No one who has faith in me will ever be thirsty. "

and "I am the bread that gives life! "

and "I am the light for the world! Follow me, and you won't be walking in the dark. You will have the light that gives life."

and "I tell you for certain that even before Abraham was, I was, and I am."

and " I am the gate. All who come in through me will be saved. Through me they will come and go and find pasture. "

Most notably Jesus said this:

"I am the way, the truth, and the life!" Jesus answered. "Without me, no one can go to the Father. "

What do you think about this?

Are you happy to accept that Jesus Christ is who he claimed to be?

or do you think that this is a step too far?

Jesus clearly in his claim implies that no other religion is a valid and effective alternative to following Jesus Christ.
